15th Feb 2020, 5:00 PMIt’s good to be back! Hopefully this scene starts going better now that I have a clearer, more step-by-step plan of action. My lil’ bros actually got some bruises trying to help me by acting out the scene, bless them. I also did a bunch of little storyboards. Thanks for being patient with me you guys, you’re the best<3
So I started doing Evan’s hair differently (it’s not completely black anymore) because I wanted to, but I’ve also done Kat’s skin differently because I had no choice, MediBang Paint either has a bug, or they’ve changed the way the gradient tool does it’s lovely colour shifts ‘cause honestly if I try to use them on Kat now it just looks gross :’( it’s much more flat-looking and pale, no matter what colour I use or which layer setting it’s on. (Yes I’ve tried shutting it down/reopening the app, shutting down my device, etc). Well, it’s not the worst thing that could happen, at least I can save a little time this way. Maybe the bug will be fixed soon, who knows.
15th Feb 2020, 8:41 PMYeah, I think part of why they’re so different in personality is because Evan’s powers are more psychological, and Kat’s are almost purely physical.
Yeah, I love the freedom to be more spontaneous with dialogue, (unless it’s a super-important moment) but with action scenes I think you really need a clear plan if you want it to be good and not just random.
16th Feb 2020, 4:53 AMI'm liking these colors for Evan's hair.
Also I believe he could just say out loud "I'm trying not to get triggered again" and everyone would understand, but that's easier said than done when you're in emotional turmoil.
17th Feb 2020, 11:27 PMI’m a pretty simple person too lol. And her skin isn’t a different colour so much as it doesn’t have a gradient on it here. I just now kinda figured how to get the gradient tool working sort of like it did before, but it’s maybe not quite as good (and definitely not as easy to use) as it was previously, but I think it still gives her that glowy look, which you’ll see on next week’s page.
He is pretty darned sensitive to a lot of things, but especially if Kat seems to be threatened in any way. It’s not really because he’s a tsundere or anything, it’s more because of his traumatic experience watching his mother be murdered, so now seeing any possibility of harm coming Kat’s way makes him sort of relive the whole thing, and he subconsciously reacts. And yeah it could be really dangerous if unchecked!

Kat’s so resilient and calm nice :D . Great sequence here, it’s always great to have a script especially with action (it’s so hard xD)

Haha it's so hard for me to adhere to a script especially dialogue I agree xD, i always look to stuff like samurai jack such clear action scenes

Yeah you’re probably right, poor guy.

Also, is Evan easily triggered by Kat getting hurt at all? Even during training? This could be really dangerous!
