Author Notes

4th Oct 2018, 3:27 AM Happy Inktober everybody. I did my best. Kat and her father are very similar in personality, and I hope that shows. (I also try to give them the same nose and ears, heh). Do you think I should use this ink style again sometime? Like, for a flashback or something?

Comments:

4th Oct 2018, 3:46 AM Her dad's concerns seem pretty reasonable, honestly. It's good that he's ok with them using their powers, but I don't blame him for being worried...

As for the art, you used a nice range of line widths imo, it's a good technique. It would probably look cool when combined with screentones too! Not many drawing programs have that feature built into them though.
4th Oct 2018, 4:32 AM Hey, welcome!

Thanks so much! Yeah I'll hafta look into screen tones, idk much about them, except for a graywash or something. And yeah their dad is one of my favs he loves them so much
20th Oct 2018, 4:19 AM Your art keeps getting better and better. The monochrome shading here works really well.
20th Oct 2018, 4:46 AM Aw, that makes my day!
19th Nov 2018, 8:53 AM Wow! This inking is great! I think I saw in the Inktober post a while back. Nice to see it in the context of the story :3
19th Nov 2018, 8:07 PM Aw, thanks! Yeah it was fun
3rd Dec 2018, 2:31 AM THIS would be my main concern if my powers were "weak" (like e.g. bullet-proof but not tank-cannon-proof).

Edit: "Do you think I should use this ink style again sometime? Like, for a flashback or something?" - I'd say it looks good on it's own, but for a flashback? Idk, I think grayscale would be better.
3rd Dec 2018, 2:42 AM Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, I guess Evan is pretty invincible, but Kat has some pretty big defensive powers as well.
23rd Dec 2018, 6:57 AM Yo the shading on the page looks sick!

Anyway, even if you couldn't have called the police yourselves, you could have called your dad. He does work for the police, after all.
23rd Dec 2018, 7:03 PM Different kind of police though. But thanks!
21st Jan 2019, 7:27 PM I think the black & white looks great! The stark contrast and detailed shading lines makes the page look easily digestible, yet so intense, but you have something good going with your color, too :D It's always fun seeing what you can do with both. I've seen animes switch to black and white for a few frames when there's a huge tension, like a bomb about to explode or something, too.

Anyway, dad here has every reason to be worried about his kids, who can blame the guy!
21st Jan 2019, 8:23 PM Yeah that might be fun to do on a few panels on the more action parts. I guess I’ve seen that in Voltron and maybe MHA

Yeah give dad’s mind a break
27th Mar 2020, 3:50 AM The father's right. If you've gotta stay low, at least wait 'til you turn eighteen and possibly out of the house.
27th Mar 2020, 5:07 AM That’s fair. But maybe they won’t have to...
13th Aug 2020, 5:45 PM just now started your comic.

ok, I LIKE dad!
13th Aug 2020, 6:18 PM Hey there, thanks for reading! <3

Aw that’s great! Derek is a good guy :3
