Author Notes

3rd Nov 2019, 1:18 AM I’m sorry, but this week there won’t be a new page due to time being eaten up by a birthday illustration and with me having to work through the weekend. I’ll be back next week though!

This picture I drew awhile ago but didn’t post here. (I’m hoping to do one of these with Kairo and Bluemist too)! The small blue dragon is meant to represent her personality and aesthetic. While Kat is pretty emotional, she also has a contagious, calm spirit about her that particularly shines in a crisis, so the blue colour seemed appropriate. And the dragon is not too intimidating or aggressive, but still very strong and powerful. Any feedback on my art, (whether this ilustration or my art in general) would be appreciated, even if you think I could improve. Now that I look at this again I can see that her blade looks like it needs to be sharpened. I could improve there. Anyways, I love you guys, and I’ll see you next week!

Comments:

3rd Nov 2019, 1:36 AM I love the Eastern-style friendly dragons, much more than the murderous, hoarding Western-style one. It compliments Kat nicely.
3rd Nov 2019, 1:46 AM Thanks! Yeah, while there’s something awe-inspiring about more western-style dragons, one of those would never represent Kat, but another character entirely.
3rd Nov 2019, 2:37 AM Ohh still really like this pic you drew :D.

I can relate to the busyness, but to be expected this time of year I guess haha. Can't wait for the next page :)
3rd Nov 2019, 3:33 AM Thanks man <3

Me too!
6th Nov 2019, 12:36 AM Re: art feedback, the only spots of criticism I have are that either her face needs to be a bit longer or the shadow of her nose a bit higher, and also that that's not... quite...how one holds a katana.
That aside, I like the composition and colour scheme you've got going! And the hair, the hair turned out real neat too :D Overall it looks really neat!

(Also, hello! Have I said hello yet? I discovered your comic a few weeks ago and have been lurking quietly x'D)

Hope life eases up on you a little bit soon! :)
6th Nov 2019, 8:14 PM Hello there! Lurkers and commenters alike are always welcome here, whatever you’re comfortable with! Thanks for reading, and for the feedback, that really helps! (And yeah I should look up how one holds a katana, but composition is really important, perhaps the most important to me, so I’m glad that part is okay. <3

And thanks, life’s already giving me a little more breathing room!
10th Nov 2019, 4:26 PM Thanks for putting in all this time and effort to make the comic! :D
I actually had to go unpack my shinai to test out that position in which she's holding the katana xD really the only big issue is that... holding a katana at that angle is kind of a killer on the wrist x'D (and also, usually the right hand is the one close to the hand-guard and the left hand is below the right)
Not sure if you actually wanted pointers or not so apologies if I'm overstepping my bounds x'D

And yes! The composition is really neat! :D

Hope all is well for you! :)
10th Nov 2019, 5:43 PM Wow, thank you!! And no worries, I make this comic because I love making it, even if it’s exhausting at times. You have an actual shinai, so lucky!! Hey no worries, I didn’t put much thought into how one holds a weapon like that, so thank you for pointing that out.

Life’s going okay ;)
