Kairo Takeishi is a cheerful, but jaded field agent who is hiding the fact that he has a very checkered past and is actually working for a mysterious weapons designer named Xan. Kairo is Sara Takeishi's younger brother.



Katana (Kat) Markus is a spunky, fun-loving super-mutant who lives by absorbing solar energy and releasing it in the form of solid light, which she uses to create energy shields and powerful energy blasts, among other things. Kat is the daughter of investigator Derek Markus, and she has been mostly in hiding up until very recently.



Evan Furukawa is a quiet, secretly depressed super-mutant with the ability to phase through anything, and his powerful eyes enable him to see things that no other (ordinary) human can. Evan has a traumatic past and is the adopted son of Derek Markus, and the biological cousin of Kat Markus. Like her, Evan has also been in hiding until recently.



Derek Markus is a tightly wound, but kind man who is a former analyst and is currently investigating several missing persons (super-mutants) cases for the Secret Police. Derek takes these cases very seriously since his own daughter and adopted son could easily be the next targets in cases like these if it weren't for the Secret Police's protection over them. Derek is Chief Simon's good friend.



Xan is Kairo's real boss, and is a professional and somewhat secretive man who will stop at nothing to accomplish his personal goals. He has been working with Kairo for more than a decade.



Chief Simon Benson is the warm and friendly chief of the Secret Police, an organization that does many things, but it specializes in anything to do with super-mutant or extra-terrestrial activity. They are not directly affiliated with the government and have bases in most parts of the world. Simon runs the show with big aspirations in mind for the future.



Yoshiko (Yoshi) Tamada is the very professional and brusque second-in-command for the Secret Police. She works closely alongside the Chief and is currently supervising Kairo's training of the new recruits.



Drew Yellowhead is a bright young man working as a forensic and IT specialist for the Secret Police. He has known Derek and Kat Markus for quite some time, and is responsible for coming up with the concept of and largely designing the recharging machine for Kat's previously unstable abilities. Drew also has extensive medical training despite never officially becoming a doctor.

Lt. Aaron Shaw is a former army lieutenant and is currently the leader of a large group of elite mercenaries. He's a hopeless thrill-seeker and loves a challenge.

Sara Takeishi is Kairo's older sister who was a strong influence on him when they were children. She is a Sunday school teacher who loves people.
