5th Jun 2021, 12:00 PMI thought it’d be more interesting to get a peek at what Derek and Drew deal with every day and what some families in this story’s world/city unfortunately have been through...rather than just showing two guys talking in an office for the whole scene.

5th Jun 2021, 12:42 PMSo to make sure I understand this page properly: This girl with green hair is a super-mutant who went missing, and they're investigating her disappearance?
I'm guessing it would be a spoiler to tell what happened to her, but I hope she's OK, wherever she is. That shot of her distraught mother is heart-wrenching.
5th Jun 2021, 2:41 PMYou got it right, yeah--it's not really a spoiler, and most of it won't be shown. I think it was implied early on that the few kids who are found are usually dead. Excuse me for being blunt, I know it's incredibly evil/awful.
5th Jun 2021, 3:25 PMOr rather—what I meant was, this particular girl’s fate isn’t really a big part of the story, it’s the criminals who are behind these disappearances that’s spoiler stuff that we haven’t gotten into yet.
5th Jun 2021, 3:49 PMYeah, that's what I thought. Still, even though it's dark, it drives home the point that the people behind these kidnappings are causing pain and emotional devastation. It really makes you want to see them taken down.
5th Jun 2021, 2:50 PMOhh this is really interesting how Evan's tying into these disappearances! Interesting, wonder when/if this will tie into our heroes ..
5th Jun 2021, 3:55 PMSorry to keep bugging you with comments, but I just noticed that the first panel and the last panel blend together behind the other panels. Very clever! I don't think I've ever seen that technique before! Or at least, if I did, I never noticed it.
6th Jun 2021, 1:08 AMAh yes, always better when you don't need to show panels of people in an office talking to each other. And nice to see actual shady person; hope he wasn't the guy who littered with that aluminum can.
16th Jun 2021, 12:20 AMAgain I'm late to the party... Brought Dr Pepper AND Mtn Dew though to make up for it!!
Truth be told I been holding off commenting cause this went in a direction I wasn't expecting, and it seriously caught me off guard.
STill processing, but well done on the literary blindside, it don't happen often!
16th Jun 2021, 11:06 AMHey no worries ever! You're good ;D and mountain Dew/dr. Pepper are yummy, even if my family disagrees with me haha
Ah yes, this story will have more than a few moments where things get darker, but I try to keep things feeling innocent and simple overall. Let me know if you think there's any way I can improve, like make it less jarring or something, feedback is always welcome d(^^)b
17th Jun 2021, 7:42 AMoverall, I expect it to be pretty dark, but with Christian overtones, and that's what you have delivered. You misunderstood my comment, I wasn't criticizing, You zigged when I thought you were going to zagg in your story plot, which means you are not always predictable, and most authors don't even try for that.
17th Jun 2021, 8:23 AMOh that’s interesting! I didn’t think of you being too critical, I am curious though as to whether people find it jarring when the story has it’s scarier moments, but I’m not worried or anything ;)
I like the way you describe the story, it’s interesting to hear what people see, as everyone has a slightly different way of interpreting. I don’t think I’m trying to be unpredictable, but I’m glad it feels that way, I often feel like I’m not good at writing big twists, like I feel as if people can always see them coming, but that’s not always a bad thing either.
18th Jun 2021, 4:35 PMWhat a tasty and awful page. I like the noise overtop of it to distance it from reality. But hooo boy, yeah I would be really distrustful in Evan's position too.
