Nah, she’s just drinking chocolate milk straight from the carton—something I do but it grosses some of my siblings out lol.

15th Aug 2021, 9:49 PM If I remember correctly, does Evan learn his moves + responses from observing? Otherwise, something to be said about him unwittingly being the danger to the one he wants to protect. Yay, Anakin Skywalker or someon from a Greek story.

Chocolate milk is a lot less DIABEETUS than straight up sugar at least. I'm guessing Derek and siblings are grossed out if they have to drink from that same jug.

Haha X’D Some of my own siblings just don’t like it even if they have no intentions of sharing. It’s the same if I eat a carrot without rinsing it first “Sharon, we don’t eat unwashed carrots, we’re not barbarians.” That’s actually where that line comes from, now that I think of it.

17th Aug 2021, 10:23 AM Haha sort of? A lot of the characters’ experiences are loosely based off my own. And haha Kat doesn’t need to eat to survive, but she probably tries eating all kinds of things just for fun! I guess you can see it however you like lmao

19th Aug 2021, 8:09 PM Could she gain weight if she moved somewhere really sunny? Or get gaunt if she stayed in the dark? Her metabolism is CLEARLY weird, even aside from the solar thing, since she seems to store energy taken in as muscle instead of fat, despite not much working out. *nerd hat on*

20th Aug 2021, 5:36 AM Hah this made me laugh so hard, but also challenged me to think!! It’s a little more complicated and we’ll get into it more in the story, and it’s not necessarily set in stone since I need to sort it out more—but let me give you a basic idea based off where my brain is right now:

I’ve always thought of her body/metabolism working more like an electronic device if that makes sense? If she moved to a sunny place—no, she wouldn’t get fat lol, but she would get overheated and sluggish—maybe have to lie down a lot and fight off fevers (sunstroke?) until her body became used to the new climate. It’s possible that hotter climates might increase her power level over time, but I’m not sure yet. Kat wouldn’t like hot climates though, it actually gets kinda hot in some places in Canada already which annoys her enough.

If Kat was in the dark for a long time—no, she wouldn’t get gaunt—but she would rapidly deteriorate. Not from the dark itself, this would happen over time anyway if she did not have a way to recharge (at the moment her only method involves the machine, which is currently stationed at her home, but eventually I want to give her a portable option) basically, Kat’s skin would lose colour and she would become cold and weak. Her light would go out and she would eventually die.

Kat’s metabolism is somewhat convenient I’m sure, like I don’t see the sun making her fat even though she gets her life energy from it (you don’t see plants that are fat, right? It’s sort of like that). I think if Kat got fat it would be from eating too much. It’s also possible that Kat does need to eat at least a little bit for some things like vitamins and like you said, fats, but I haven’t exactly figured it all out yet（；^ω^）Just keep in mind it’s not really supposed to be realistic so much as cool and fun!

It's got enough weird science that it's fun to speculate and ask questions about, but it also works kind of poetically/metaphorically, with the sun being associated with life and cheer and also danger (heatstroke, sunburn, at least one sun god also being a plague god) but being generally a Good Thing, which all fits Kat very well.

22nd Aug 2021, 3:59 PM Oh yeah, I remember talking about how Kat might be a plant (or Kryptonian). In this case where she's drinking chocolate milk, does it mean she's watering herself? If only all our houseplants learned how to water themselves.

It’s true though, Kairo really is playing mind games. I don’t think he’s trying to hurt Evan, but this is the only way Kairo knows how to get stubborn people to listen. Unfortunately, that’s mostly all that’s been modelled for him.

Ohhhh is THAT why it grosses people out (ᗒᗜᗕ)՛̵̖
