Evan’s brain is very quick to imagine the worst possible scenario. I mean, it’s easy to see when he’s already witnessed horrors such as murder in the past.

Side note: I'm seeing an interesting parallel between Evan and Bailey in that they have a fear of their own powers, though for different reasons. Kairo giving advice about learning to control it is similar to what Phil told Bailey.

Aw cool!! Yeah I’m not sure how similar it is, I’d have to go back and look at Bailey’s arc again. We’ll see if it turns out to be a strong parallel!

Dang, it's true, and not explored enough imo with superheroes. Evan's really powerful, must be so anxiety inducing not knowing if you could inadvertently hurt someone you love.

Yeah the multi-coloured effect was inspired by the way old cartoons portray a character going insane or something, I’ve always found it to look strange and sometimes even scary but in a good way—the reference I used here though was actually this image from the modern Ducktales show:

And that is so true! I find that with superhero stories and even in a lot of other genres, while they’ve got good stuff I’m always wanting to know more, you know? I want to understand the characters more, the theme more, I want more feels, more development, etc. They have it but they gotta dig deeper sometimes!

If Kairo can talk him back down from here it will be a sharp lesson for both of them.
