25th Sep 2021, 12:00 PMThought I needed to stop putting Kat and Evan in a box so much

In all seriousness though—this scene is very sad. I hadn’t planned on this, and didn’t think of it till recently—but it reminds me a lot of the scene from Madagascar (I already mentioned this on social media) where Marty approaches Alex, telling him to come back home. Alex is so afraid of losing control of himself after discovering his wild nature that he builds himself a fortress designed to keep everyone away. But this doesn’t phase Marty, who is Alex’s best friend. When Marty refuses to leave, Alex lashes out at him like a wild lion would. But then his eyes go back to normal for a second and he pleads “I don’t wanna hurt you!”
For such a slapstick movie, it sure had a brutal moment there. I love how Marty stays with Alex even though Alex won’t let him come too close. In moments like that—sometimes solitude is the last thing we need.
25th Sep 2021, 12:08 PMYeah, a good demonstration as to why (good/healthy) communication is so important.
If one person just runs off, it leaves the other person confused and maybe sad.
25th Sep 2021, 4:07 PMLet's traumatize the emotionally disturbed kid.
I think Kat has a reckoning coming with Kairo, something along the lines of "Remember when I accidentally knocked you across the room? Well, this is not accidental." *violence noises*
25th Sep 2021, 4:43 PMYeah to us it may seem like that, but Kairo doesn't know anything about Evan's mother dying though. He wasn't given any specific details.
X') ohmigoodness she might at least threaten him if he really messed Evan up
25th Sep 2021, 5:57 PMI love Kat in that second panel, so happy :D , great poses here they really emote what they're feeling .
Madagascar was great, I remember 1 and 2 being so hilarious and light in tone lolol, but you're right they had some great heartwrenching arcs/moments too! Especially with Alex dang.
25th Sep 2021, 6:35 PMAw that’s awesome, I’m glad they worked out! And it’s been great to draw Kat again :D
Yeah I know the original Madagascar is a classic in my family—I really like that arc with Alex and Marty of course, but the other thing I love is the dialogue—it just sounds like me and my siblings bickering, so it’s very relatable and easy for us to quote ;)
26th Sep 2021, 4:43 AMI haven’t really had a chance to show this yet, but yeah, Kat likes drawing and is pretty creative. Evan draws more than she does, but Evan’s drawings are perfect specimens since his mimicry makes him able to draw anything he’s ever seen (perfectly) from memory. Kat’s drawings are probably mostly fun doodles.
28th Sep 2021, 10:27 PMThough I'm now curious what she's drawing. Perhaps time to depict Sunstrike and Bluemist extra content or out of context panels, depending on how we can edit Kat's sketchbook.
26th Sep 2021, 7:39 PMOuch. He seems to have gone from feeling like he's the only one who can protect her to feeling like he's just another threat. Kairo isn't exactly the most fit counselor, is he? Though I'm not really sure who would be able to get through to Evan at this point.
