12th Feb 2022, 12:00 PM Things have been going great at my new place! That’s not even me trying to be optimistic—my housemate is really nice, and a lot like me…just a lot older lol. It’s such a different experience, not being surrounded by people all the time. But I’ve found taking care of yourself is more work than I thought it would be, so sometimes I’m really tired, but not always :D

I tried a different colour for the shading here. I might keep it or play around with it some more. We’ll see what colour works best for Kat, since I always use a different colour for her shading than the others

Also, I like the new shading colour! It's very subtly different but I think it looks nice!

Adjusting to your new place well, eh? Yeah it can definitely be tiring sometimes. When new situations get tough/scary, I find comfort in the familiar things, like my favourite shows/comics/games/etc. Those things stay with you no matter where you go.

12th Feb 2022, 10:08 PM See, the trick is telling them when they get it right, too, not just always pointing out when something's wrong. Otherwise they get the impression that they can't do anything right, and look where that got you.

Nice to hear you're adjusting to your new place well :D . That can be a shock especially at first, but sounds like it's going well. I can relate to the tiredness xD

And Kairo my bro, when you were in the military I imagine you were still a big beefcake compared to Kat and Evan. And likely a full grown adult, unless my guess is wrong.

Address real people now, I'm currently leaning toward Kairo is just being a coach that doesn't always understand limits.

And yeah, Kairo as pretty much full grown adult when he was in the military at least, but he went through some other stuff when he was way too young—another reason he might be having trouble seeing what the problem is here.

But yeah I also think he’s a lot like a tough(ish) coach right now, he’s certainly not intentionally being unkind.

13th Feb 2022, 11:28 PM It's always a pleasure to get a new episode of your comic. Kairo seems to read Evan pretty well but not Kat. A little praise at the right time is just as effective as criticism. If you're going to criticize do it in a constructive way, something like "A moment before you attack, your eyes always do such-and-such." That way Kat or whomever has something to work on.

And yeah I think that’s totally true. I sometimes wonder if some people have this mindset (even subconsciously) like “if I can just get her to feel guilty enough so she understands the urgency here, she’ll improve faster.”
I of course do not approve of this at all though :(
