Author Notes

2nd Jun 2019, 5:07 PM Even someone like Kairo is geeking out a little here, I mean, c’mon, who wouldn’t?

So you may notice that the force-field screentone has changed colour...I fixed the previous page too. It’s thanks to one of my readers on The Duck who taught me how to do it. Slow learning is better than no learning to.

2nd Jun 2019, 5:29 PM THAT LOOKS SO COOL!
Can I join him? :D
2nd Jun 2019, 5:54 PM Go ahead! Let’s all have a force-field-whacking party!
2nd Jun 2019, 5:41 PM Quick, Kairo, get the hammer!
2nd Jun 2019, 5:55 PM BANG! (The hammer vibrates so much Kai has to drop it) “Ouch!”
2nd Jun 2019, 6:45 PM She looks tired and strained from keeping it up in the middle panel, so he might be able to get through it in this demonstration after all
2nd Jun 2019, 7:22 PM You certainly read her expression right. But he still couldn’t break it—she just can’t keep it up for too long. But I’m sure she will get stronger
2nd Jun 2019, 10:02 PM Force fields are always fun, I can't wait to introduce my oc that has this power :3
2nd Jun 2019, 10:09 PM Awesome! Mine and your OC’s should be buddies!
2nd Jun 2019, 10:10 PM If we're talking general, sure, but the one with the force field should be avoided, he's... Not really a nice guy
2nd Jun 2019, 10:22 PM Haha that’s fair but I bet Kat could get him to lighten up
3rd Jun 2019, 12:31 AM That is awesommee :D Both effects for it look great imo. What i like about this one is it does look like traditional ‘light shield’.

I’d be geeking out too Kairo XD
3rd Jun 2019, 11:25 AM Thanks! Yeah it’s the same tones just white
3rd Jun 2019, 12:05 PM And now for the first ever drum solo on a shield of light...!
3rd Jun 2019, 1:02 PM OMGOSH perfect!
4th Jun 2019, 11:36 AM I wonder if she can move around with the light shield?
4th Jun 2019, 11:45 AM Hmm maybe she can roll around with it?
10th Jun 2019, 4:04 PM This' something I wish I could do!
10th Jun 2019, 6:05 PM Make force-fields or touch them? Lol either one would be awesome to me,
12th Jun 2019, 2:34 AM It looks like summoning that thing wore her out.

I can't wait till she gets to level 5 and is able to have electricity run through her shield like these cool little static balls :D
(Of course I'm just teasing, lol)
12th Jun 2019, 3:38 AM Yup

OOOMAN that would be awesome! Maybe she does something similar...?
12th Jun 2019, 4:34 AM Looking up how they work, apparently there's a tesla coil in the middle and the ball is filled with noble gases. Neat, but I guess it won't have the same effect unless Kat's got the high voltage electrode material in her leg and is surrounded by noble gasses? It'd look so COOL though. I'd be all for it if she does! XD
12th Jun 2019, 11:27 AM Me too!! It’s hard for me to be all accurate scientifically though so thanks for these notes!
12th Jun 2019, 5:02 PM Yeah, I'm super insecure about doing things that don't make sense scientifically, so I try to do a bit of research and then try not to worry about it, lol
12th Jun 2019, 5:30 PM Yeah I feel ya. I might do a tad of research or take inspiration from science but for sciency things I usually just don’t worry about it. XD I bet this scifi drama is one step away from being a fantasy drama at times

Unless her body acts like a Tesla coil? Hmmmm...
12th Jun 2019, 8:51 PM You can play around with it. Sometimes research inspires better ideas. Sometimes, you throw logic to the wind and do something simply because you want to. :'D
12th Jun 2019, 10:24 PM Sounds good. : )
3rd Aug 2019, 7:11 PM Very cool!
3rd Aug 2019, 7:50 PM Thanks, this was so fun!
28th Feb 2020, 6:36 PM That's so cool! :)
28th Feb 2020, 6:43 PM Hey thanks!
6th Apr 2020, 10:25 PM I wonder how much force this shield can handle?
7th Apr 2020, 5:00 AM Ehh, it can probably handle anything, it’s more a question of “how long can Kat keep this shield up?”
20th Oct 2020, 6:54 PM Love the dramatic lighting in this page!
21st Oct 2020, 11:20 AM Thank you! Looking back at this now—I really like the moment where he touches the shield, idk it’s kind of cool.
